By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

2. Who can use the website

The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the website with the involvement of a parent or guardian. You may read, share links to, and print single copies of our articles for your personal, non-commercial use. You may quote a short excerpt in a review, discussion, or news report, as long as you credit The Backlog Brief and link to the original article.

  • Present our content as your own or remove credits and notices from it
  • Interfere with the website’s security, performance, or advertising, or try to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Upload or send malware, spam, or harmful code to us or through the website
  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates these Terms

5. Games, trademarks, and third-party content

Game titles, logos, characters, screenshots, cover art, and other game-related materials are the property of their respective publishers, developers, and platform holders. Names such as PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam are trademarks of their owners.

We refer to these materials to identify, discuss, and review games. Our use does not mean that any publisher, developer, or platform endorses us or is affiliated with us, unless we clearly say so.

6. Accuracy of game information

We research every article carefully, but games change after release. Updates, patches, new content, remasters, price changes, sales, and platform differences can affect the information we publish.

  • Playtimes and evenings are estimates. How long a game takes you depends on your skill, play style, difficulty setting, and how long you play in one session.
  • Prices and availability change often. Always check the current price and availability on the store before you buy.
  • Verdicts are opinions. Our verdicts reflect our editorial judgment about whether a game is worth your time. Your experience may differ.

Our content is for general information only. Any decision to buy, download, or play a game is yours. If you find an error, please report it under our corrections policy. You can learn how we reach our verdicts on our How We Review page.

7. Stores, links, and purchases

The website links to game stores, publishers, and other websites that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their content, prices, products, services, privacy practices, or terms.

We do not sell games. Any purchase you make on another website is a transaction between you and that seller, and refunds, delivery, and support are handled by them under their own terms.

8. Advertising and affiliate links

The website is supported by advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense, and may contain affiliate links. If you buy something through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships never influence our verdicts. Full details are in our disclaimer and editorial policy.

9. Emails and feedback you send us

We don’t have comment sections or contact forms. If you email us feedback, suggestions, tips, or corrections, you allow us to use those ideas to improve our content without payment or credit to you. We will not publish your name, email address, or the full text of your email without your permission.

Please do not send confidential information or material that you do not have the right to share.

10. Copyright complaints

  4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf
  6. Your physical or electronic signature

We will review every complete notice and remove or change material where appropriate.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The website and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KCS Groups, its owners, team members, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, data, or time, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or its content, including any decision to buy or play a game based on our content.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties or liabilities to be excluded or limited, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited under the law where you live.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless KCS Groups and its team from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the website.
